2026 Shanghai Spring/Summer Yarn Exhibition: Multiple new functional polyester c
On March 11, the 2026 China International Textile Yarn (Spring and Summer) Exhibition opened at the Shanghai National Convention and Exhibition Center. Several leading enterprises collectively unveiled their upgraded polyester colored spun yarn products, with renewable recycling and multifunctional composites emerging as core innovation directions.
Shanghai Defuren has released the first batch of bio-enzymatic T2T textile recycled polyester color spun yarn in China, using waste polyester clothing as raw material and achieving full-process liquid coloring without the need for additional dyes. Its color fastness and strength indicators are comparable to those of virgin polyester color yarn, and it has achieved stable mass production. Zhejiang Huilong New Materials exhibited dye-free low-temperature color-developing polyester color spun yarn, with dyeing temperature reduced to 98℃, saving 28% energy compared to conventional polyester dyeing, and suitable for the production of cotton-polyester blended color spun fabric.
The inquiries from buyers at the exhibition focused on three major categories: hemp gray recycled color spun yarn, cool-feeling mica polyester color spun yarn, and anti-static workwear color spun yarn. Exhibiting companies indicated that there is currently an explosion in demand from downstream apparel brands for color spun yarn that offers "multiple effects from one yarn, is low-carbon, and is recyclable". In previous years, only a small amount of customized functional polyester color spun yarn was ordered, but in 2026, the proportion of bulk orders increased to over 40%. Differentiated color spinning has become a core driver of corporate profit growth.
